Freixenet (pronounced "fresh-eh-net"), best known for its "black bottle bubbly" Cordon Negro, is a family-owned company that grew from humble beginnings in rural Catalunya. The roots of Freixenet stretch back to 1861 and are embedded in the history of two longstanding winemaking families, the Ferrers and the Salas, whose expertise, determination and ingenuity intertwined to form the foundation of the company that today is the world leader in sparkling wines. The proof, as they say, is in the bottle: today, the most often popped corks in the world say "Freixenet." Our Cavas are produced from the finest variety of Macabeo, Xarel.lo, and Parellada grapes, which come from our home of production, the Spanish Penedes-also known as Cava country. After being aged for a minimum of 9 months, our bubbly is then packaged in the world famous “black bottle.” Whether you love our Cava for its crisp and elegant taste or you like it simply because of the fun and unique packaging, Freixenet is the symbol of celebration and it’s no secret as to why it’s been a one of a kind brand for over 150 years. I addition to Cava, Freixenet also carries a wide variety of other sparkling wines. The Freixenet Prosecco and Prosecco Rose are two very popular products, both of which come in a beautiful diamond bottle. A summertime favorite from Freixenet is the Ice and Ice Rose, along with the Asti, if you have a preference for something sweeter. And if you are not a sparkling wine fan, Freixenet also carries two still wines, an Italian Rose and a Pinot Grigio.
