Robert Mondavi's Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, concentrated red wine cuvée made from Cabernet Sauvignon (86%), Merlot (10%) and other complementary red grape varieties (4%). This wine wraps itself in a deep ruby red with purple highlights. The bouquet is characterized by a grape variety and terroirtypic, fruity aroma: sweetly ripened blackcurrants, meet juicy cherries and ripe plums. This is accompanied by notes of fine herbs, spices, roasted nuances and a fine mineral touch. This dry red wine from the USA is an excellent accompaniment to Entrecotes in dark sauce, roasted duck breast with cranberries, roast deer with savoury side dishes or even medium strength cheese. The palate is completely convinced by a powerful, concentrated body with fleshy texture. The gently ripened tannins give this American red wine its juicy fullness and very good structure. The fruity, dark berry fruit of the nose flatters the palate and is accompanied by a clear minerality. This red wine concludes with a long reverberation, which is carried by herbal liquorice. The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is certainly impressive, and since there are roughly 90,000 cases, it’s an incredible achievement. Classic darker currants, tobacco leaf, truffly earth, and spicy oak all define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, terrific balance, and outstanding length. Based off 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, buy a case and enjoy bottles over the coming 10-15 years. Best after 2022.
A complex nose of fresh berries, olives, herbs and spices. Balanced, velvety palate with nice harmony and elegant tannins. Long, savory finish. Delicious. Drink or hold.
