Our Favorite Canned Cocktails, Ranked

Summertime. And the living’s easy. 

The backyard parties are on. Your friends can’t wait to experiment with the new grilling recipes. Your partner is in charge of the games. And you were assigned the best task of all–deciding on the drinks. It makes sense to have a few staples on hand, such as soda, beer and hard seltzers, but if you want to really wow your guests, grab some canned cocktails.

Perfect for sipping on the deck, the picnic blanket, in your favorite Adirondack chair or while floating down the river in a tube. Whatever your summer party is like, these canned cocktails won’t disappoint.

1. Mamitas Paloma

All tequila lovers out there should try Mamitas. Mamitas Paloma is a hard seltzer made with real tequila, sparkling water and a splash of grapefruit juice. It’s refreshing citrusy flavor will remind you of the classic Paloma cocktail. It is perfect for a day out on the beach or at a drive-in movie theater. 

Pair it with: Rosemary bread, watermelon slices or grilled shrimp.

2. Mamitas Lime

Oops, Mamitas rocked the canned cocktail world again. This hard seltzer is flavored with lime and pairs with literally anything. Such a simple and versatile drink has to rank high. 

Feeling adventurous? You can mix it with other flavors and create unique hard seltzer cocktails. If this isn’t a call for a bartender competition, we don’t know what is. 

Pair it with: Chips and guac or pretty much anything.

3. Taffer’s Strawberry Basil Sparkling Craft Cocktail

This canned cocktail is fresh, crisp, deliciously fruity and not overly sweet. It would be perfect for a lazy brunch on your friend’s porch. Have we mentioned it has no added sugar? 

If you like your drinks to have a little bit of a bite, try Taffer’s Cucumber Jalapeño. 

Pair it with: Goat cheese, grilled chicken, simple salads.

4. SESH Mojito

If you want something closer to your regular bar order, try this canned cocktail. SESH Mojito is a high-flavor, low-calorie, gluten-free seltzer with 0 grams of added sugar. So as cocktails go, it’s relatively guilt-free! SESH suggests their Mojito is for “the spirited type who wants to kick off a party or kick off the flip flops.” Well, we suggest you invite your friends and do just that! 

Pair it with: Fish tacos.

5. High Noon Vodka Watermelon Cocktail

Any vodka cocktail appreciators among us? Meet a watermelon drink that doesn’t have that annoying artificial flavor. Made in California with real vodka and real juice, High Noon canned cocktail is basically sunshine and adventure in a can. Its bright and lively flavor is perfect for a post-hiking lunch or a barbecue with your closest pals. 

Pair it with: Salty crunchy snacks or pickled veggies (e.g., olives or pickles).

6. Absolut Lime & Cucumber Vodka Soda

To continue with the vodka theme, let us introduce you to possibly the most refreshing canned cocktail out there. Crisp and zesty, Absolut Lime & Cucumber is made with Swedish vodka and is great on its own or as a base for your inventions. 

Pair it with: S’mores, fruit, barbecue.

7. The Standard Vodka Mule

Love the Moscow mule and its variations? The Standard Vodka Mule blends natural ginger, lime and real vodka in a cocktail that is equal parts smooth, spicy and refreshing. Serve it chilled or over ice. Or, better still, throw it in a cooler and go adventuring: fishing, camping, kayaking, the sky’s the limit. 

Pair it with: Ham, pretzels, spicy foods.

8. Bacardi Rum Punch

A good punch takes a lot of effort. Unless it’s a ready-to-drink canned punch! Bacardi Rum Punch blends bold flavors of pineapple, sweet orange and ripe mango with a hint of passionfruit. Serve it next time you’re hosting a dinner party—your guests will appreciate it. 

Pair it with: Dark chocolate or dried fruit.

9. Crown Royal Washington Apple

This ready-to-drink canned cocktail from Crown Royal is an exciting combination of Canadian whisky, apple and cranberry. Best enjoyed by a fire with the people you care about. 

Pair it with: Meat, creamy pasta or spicy food.

10. Barefoot Moscato Spritzer

If you love white wine spritzers and sweet fruity drinks, you’ll love this perfect combo. This California wine-based spritzer has delicious notes of peach and honeysuckle, which basically screams summer!
