At long last, National Snack Day is upon us this Friday, March 4! At Gopuff, we love snacking; it’s one of our favorite activities. In preparation for this most beloved ‘holiday,’ Gopuff is here to help you celebrate with all your favorite snacks, and a fun twist. This year, our data team dove into the top over-indexed snacks people across the nation have been ordering over the past year to give some of our top cities a ‘snack worthy’ title, such as ‘spiciest city,’ ‘fruitiest city,’ and ‘crunchiest city.’

Austin – Sweetest
Austin has been granted the title of ‘sweetest city.’ With top over-indexed products such as Famous Amos Bite Size Chocolate Chip Cookies, Hostess Birthday CupCakes, Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars, Chewy Marshmallow Manifesto Bars, and Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars, local customers sound like a real treat!
Boston – Cheesiest
Beantown is now Cheesetown: Boston has been dubbed the ‘cheesiest city!’ Boston’s top two over-indexed products were two flavors of Sargento Balanced Breaks: Sharp Monterey Jack & Mild Cheddar with Wheat Thins and Pepper Jack & Colby Jack with Mini Ritz Crackers.
Chicago – Saltiest
The Windy City has been granted a new name: the ‘saltiest city!’ With products like Three Dads Superfood Popcorn, Emerald Nuts Roasted and Salted Cashews, and Goldfish Pretzels as some of their top over-indexed products, Chicagoans have great taste in snacks.
Dallas – Jerkiest
Don’t take this the wrong way, Dallas; you’ve been named ‘jerkiest city.’ With Chomps Italian Style Beef Jerky Sticks and Chomps Original Turkey Sticks in their top five over-indexed products, jerky looks like a local favorite!
Denver – Healthiest
Denver has been named ‘healthiest city.’ In their top five over-indexed snacks lies Special K Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Meal Bars and Once Upon a Farm Green Kale and Apples Fruit and Veggie Blend; known as an active and outdoor-loving city, this makes a lot of sense for Denver.
Houston – Bougiest
Houston has been dubbed ‘bougiest city.’ With Blenders & Bowls The O.G. Acai Bowls, Made in Nature Organic Cranberry Pistachio Figgy Pops, and Rhythm Superfoods White Cheddar Cauliflower Bites in their top over-indexed products (and being the home of Beyoncé) no wonder Houston is so bougie!
Los Angeles – Fruitiest
Los Angeles has been named ‘fruitiest city.’ Amongst their top over-indexed products were Skittles Wild Berry Gummies, Mike & Ike Mega Mix Bags, Laffy Taffy Fun Size Bags, and Nerds Grape & Strawberry Fun Size Bags. Looks like Los Angelens have berry good taste in snacks.
Miami – Craziest
Miami has been given the title of ‘craziest city.’ Let us explain: amongst Miami’s top over-indexed products were Planters Trail Mix Nuts & Chocolate and Planters Peanut Butter Chocolate Trail Mix… What’s crazier than trail mix? It’s a bunch of different snacks combined into an entirely new snack… Crazy.
New York – Crispiest
The Big Apple has a new name: the ‘crispiest city.’ With Hal’s New York Barbeque Chips, Quest Spicy Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips, and Double Cheese Cheez-It Snap’d Cheesy Baked Snacks in New York City’s top over-indexed products, chips and crackers now reign supreme; don’t ever let anyone tell you that an apple is a snack.
Philadelphia – Crunchiest
What’s crunchier than kettle-cooked chips? Nothing. Our hometown of Philadelphia has been dubbed ‘crunchiest city’ with Uglies Original Sea Salt Kettle Cooked Potato Chips as the top over-indexed product, closely followed by Herr’s Jalapeno Kettle Chips and another crunchy staple: David’s Ranch Sunflower Seeds.
Phoenix – Spiciest
Phoenix, already known as a hot city, is now also the ‘spiciest city.’ Customers in Phoenix really enjoyed feeling the heat with Sabritones Chile and Lime Flavored Puffed Wheat Snacks, Cheetos Crunchy Flamin’ Hot Limon, Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Pepper Puffs, and Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Potato Chips as some of their top over-indexed products.
San Francisco – Smoothest
Everyone knows the smoothest thing on this earth isn’t Justin Timberlake, but actually milk chocolate. San Francisco – with Tony’s Chocolonely 32% Milk Chocolate with Honey Almond Nougat Bars, Tony’s Chocolonely 42% Dark Milk Chocolate with Pretzel and Toffee Bars, and Lily’s Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Bars in its top over-indexed products – shall henceforth be known as the ‘smoothest city.’
Seattle – Freshest
Finally, Seattle has been crowned the title of ‘freshest city.’ With Doublemint Gum and Tic Tac Fruit Adventure as two of Seattle’s top over-indexed products, it looks like locals are looking to stay fresh often. Plus, fresh to death Kenny G is from Seattle, so that’s that.
Washington, D.C. – Chewiest
This isn’t something we needed to chew on: Washington, D.C. has been granted the title of ‘chewiest city.’ Amongst the top five over-indexed products were chewy Berg Bites Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Oat N’ Energy Bites and Barnana Peanut Butter Chewy Banana Bites; we dare you to find something chewier than peanut butter.
