Coming from older vines, the 2015 Gelida Brut Gran Reserva is a blend of 35% Xarel·lo, 25% Macabeo, 20% Parellada, and 20%Chardonnay that spent 40 months on lees before bottling. Its more golden color is followed by a beautiful notes of golden apples, orange blossom, brioche, and honeysuckle. It's rich, has beautiful depth of fruit, good purity, and a clean finish. It's another terrific, richer example of Cava to drink over the coming 4-6 years.
A well made cava with a nice bubble structure and apple, pear and some bread-dough character. Medium body. Attractive aftertaste.
